This is an initiative to assist the Caribbean Islands severely affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria. It is spearheaded by the Living Water Community’s Mercy Foundation with assistance from Build Change. The focus of the project is to build homes on the islands, starting with Dominica, Barbuda, Anguilla, and BVI.
The Global Business Leadership Forum is an international organization connecting business leaders across various continents. This organisation hosts Seminars, Business Forums and Conferences in North America and The Caribbean.
Living Water Community is one of the leading Charitable Organisations in the Caribbean Region with an emphasis on the poor and less fortunate with numerous centres throughout the Caribbean. Serving, the homeless, battered women, homeless young men, drug addicts, victims of HIV Aids, refugees & asylum seekers the poor and destitute. Living Water Community assisted many countries in the region during Natural Disasters. This organisation is in operation for over 40 years.
In September 2017 two category five hurricanes Irma and Maria inflicted life changing destruction on the islands of Barbuda, St Martin, St Bart’s, The BVI, Turks and Caicos, Cuba, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda and other parts of the region.
Between the two hurricanes there were over 200 deaths and over 3 billion in damages. Full recovery may be years away
In response to the devastation, Living Water Community and the Joint Chambers of Commerce (Trinidad and Tobago) and the Global Business Leadership Forum developed a plan of action to provide relief:
We plan to rebuild a minimum of 200 homes on the islands most devastated by the hurricanes, starting in January 2018.

The first of two daughters, Wendy graduated from the University of the West Indies in 1996 with a Bachelor of Law degree. She continued her legal training at the Hugh Wooding Law School.
